In early February, Sue in NH published a diary (I'm a Republican: Fuck You) that really bothered me, for a couple of reasons. First, while a lot of the essay is devoted to the assertion that Republicans are all about hating, the essay itself exuded a raw hatred that I found scary. Second, there may be rich Republicans and bigoted Republicans and lots of other bad Republicans but I don't think I'm like that. I go to work, I raise my family and I pay my taxes, more or less without complaint. I believe there are a whole lot more Republicans like me than the type that Sue describes. Since she invited people to react, I decided to rewrite her essay to represent me, item by item.
